Snap is testing a paid subscription to Snapchat+. This will offer a number of exclusive features.
Snap has begun testing a paid Snapchat subscription that will give users early access to new features. A company representative confirmed the information to The Verge. “We are currently internally testing Snapchat Plus, a new subscription service for Snapchatters. We’re thrilled to be able to share exclusive features, experimental and more with our subscribers, and learn more about how we can best serve our community.”

While we don’t have any details about this paid service at this time, engineer Alessandro Paluzzi has discovered hidden information in the app that gives us an idea of what Snapchat+ has to offer.
Apparently, it would be possible to attach a friend to your best friend and enjoy exclusive badges. Snapchat+ followers will also have a badge on their profile, be able to see the location of their friends over the past 24 hours – if they share their location with the user, of course – and see how many friends have viewed their stories. According to information found by Alessandro Paluzzi, the service will cost 4.59 euros per month or 45.99 euros per year.

These features and pricing are, of course, subject to change from now until the launch of the service, should Snap ever decide to launch it. Looking at what other social networks and similar apps are doing, it wouldn’t be surprising if Snapchat+ sees the light of day. Twitter Blue debuted in the US last year, a $3 option for users who want certain extra features like an undo button. Telegram also confirmed that it will be launching a Premium subscription before the end of the month to allow its biggest fans to send larger files and have more resources.
