Sony Interactive Entertainment gets stronger for mobile gaming

Several video game industry veterans are joining Sony Interactive Entertainment’s mobile team.

Nearly a year after announcing plans to expand PlayStation licensing to mobile devices, Sony Interactive Entertainment has created a dedicated smartphone game development team, adding Nicola Sebastiani, former head of Apple Arcade subscription content and COO of commercial games for the App Store, to its team.. head. The latter brought back Chris Davis, ex-CEO of Kabam, Olivier Courtemanche, ex-head of mobile products at Disney and Zynga, and producers Chris Spencer (EA Chillingo) and Elizabeth Dumbric (Glu Mobile).

“Mobile devices are just one of the areas we are exploring to reach millions of gamers beyond our platforms. PlayStation has a huge catalog of diverse intellectual property that can be adapted into mobile games and complement our AAA games and game services,” said Jim Ryan in May 2021 during a strategy meeting.
