Hideo Kojima’s next project is reportedly a horror game called “Overdose”

Kojima Productions, led by legendary game creator Hideo Kojima, is apparently working on a new horror game currently titled Overdose. The news comes from active insider Tom Henderson, who claims that Kojima Productions is currently working on a new horror game starring actress Margaret Qualley.

Qualley was previously part of Death Stranding by Kojima Productions and played the Mamu/Lokna siblings. Henderson states that the game footage shows the character Margaret Qualley moving through dark corridors with a flashlight in a third-person perspective, but the game also has the option of a first-person mode.

Actor Norman Reedus, who played protagonist Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding, also revealed that the studio could also be working on a 2019 sequel to the game. However, it looks like Overdose may be a completely different project and under development than Death Stranding 2, which should be in the early stages of development.

Margaret Qualley is rumored to star in Hideo Kojima’s new game, Overdose.

Details about the rumored game remain scarce, with Henderson claiming that Kojima Productions approached the publisher and author to remove the leak/article. The article is temporarily unavailable as Henderson apparently updated the article to reflect the studio’s request to take it down.

Kojima Productions’ debut game, Death Stranding, was controversial to say the least at launch, but has since become a hit in the gaming community. Director Hideo Kojima has always had a passion for horror elements and has experimented with them in games like the Metal Gear Solid series and even Death Stranding.

The director was previously supposed to work on Silent Hills with Guillermo Del Toro, but the project was scrapped when publisher Konami and Hideo Kojima parted ways. It would seem that Overdose could be Kojima’s second attempt at creating a full-fledged horror game and giving players a terrifying new experience.
