A more affordable 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro with the M2 chip is reportedly in development.

A 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 chip may be coming soon. It will be a more affordable alternative to the current model.

There are currently three models of Apple MacBook Pro computers: 13-inch model, 14-inch model, and 16-inch model. However, the 14- and 16-inch models are more expensive than the 13-inch ones, as they use M1 Pro and Max chips, which are more powerful, but also more expensive, of course. Apple may reshuffle its product range.

At the same time, @Dylandkt tweeter claims that the Cupertino company can replace its 14-inch model. The tweet in question suggests that Apple could release a new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip in the second half of 2022. And this machine will become a more affordable alternative to the current 14-inch model with the M1 Pro chip and at the same time replace the 13-inch model.

It will be a more affordable alternative to the current model.

And in a way it all makes sense. There are too many MacBook Pro configurations today, and the differences between 13-inch and 14-inch models are too small to count. If people choose the 13-inch model over the 14-inch, it’s most likely because of its price, not because of the screen size. In fact, offering a more affordable M2 version of the 14-inch model could allow Apple to simplify its offering.

It’s been a little over a year since the Cupertino-based company introduced its 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Apple Silicon M1 chip, it’s time to offer a new version. The date, although very vague, the second half of 2022, is actually quite logical. The information should in any case be taken with a grain of salt, but we could get more information in the coming months. To be continued!
