Officially delayed by several years, the feature-length film Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, directed by Patty Jenkins, is set to re-release next year.
For Disney and Lucasfilm, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was supposed to triumphantly bring the Star Wars franchise back to the big screen. Originally released in December 2020, it represents the first major film since the conclusion of the Skywalker saga. Unfortunately, less than a year after the announcement, the production faced a major setback due to a scheduling issue. If the project, directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Matthew Robinson, was therefore shelved indefinitely, things would seem to have changed.
Ahead of the Star Wars celebrations that will take place at the end of May, Disney sent the international press an update on the release schedule for all of its films. Surprisingly, Rogue Squadron was again scheduled to release on the original date of December 22, 2023. All eyes will now be on Anaheim, California as the Star Wars celebration kicks off with its rich and exciting opening.
