Should I buy a shop and what are its advantages in Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy has many shops and other vendors, but is it worth buying a shop? As you explore the magical world of Hogwarts Legacy, you will come across shops in various locations. They may also be located outside of Hogsmeade, but this is not so much a store as a seller. But in Hogsmeade, you can find a variety of shops, each dedicated to a different purpose. Here you can also have your own store, let’s find out more about it.

Is it worth buying your own store and what does it do in Hogwarts Legacy?

First, let’s be clear that the store purchase is currently only available to PlayStation players. It will be available for other platforms such as PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on February 10, 2024. It seems unfair to players on those platforms, but it doesn’t really matter in terms of gameplay or story, so that’s fine.

To buy a store, you need to complete most of the game. It can be unlocked by completing the Minding Your Own Business quest and then you can buy it from Cassandra Mason for 1500 gold.

You must be at least level 28 before attempting this quest, as the enemies you will face in it are quite strong. Most players will likely get to this point after completing the story. Also, this quest can only appear during the winter season of the game.

What are the benefits of owning a store?

When you buy your own shop in Hogwarts Legacy, you can give it a name. You will also have a house elf as a shop owner. Unfortunately, the only real benefit of owning your own store is that you will be able to sell your items for 10% more. You can’t buy anything in your own store either. Despite this, you can now sell all your items for a better price in your own shop.

That’s all you need to know about whether or not you should buy a store and what are the benefits. For more Hogwarts Legacy guides like this, check out our other articles.
