Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be the final volume of the saga

Accompanied by some of the cast, James Gunn celebrates the end of filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Writer/director James Gunn announced on social media that he has finally completed principal photography for the third installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise: “After over 100 days of filming and over 3,000 shots, here is the clapperboard of the last scene rendered. me by the technical team. There was nothing more to say, but I had to exert all my energy not to burst into tears on the spot. I love this incredible team, their talent and their kindness. I was lucky that they traveled with me for almost ten years. ”

Although the film’s superhero plot has not been revealed, the previous installments followed the half-human, half-alien Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord (Pratt), and his gang of intergalactic criminals in their fight against various threats looming over their universe. Flight 3 will be the third and final film in the Guardians of the Galaxy series, starring Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Dave Batista, Zoe Saldanha as Thanos’ adopted daughter, Gamora, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sylvester. Stallone and Will Poulter. Note that Jennifer Holland joined the cast along the way.

The first two films in the series, Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017), grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide for Disney and Marvel. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will hit theaters on May 3, 2023.
