PlayStation State of Play stream scheduled for October 27: where to watch, what to expect and more

State of Play is back soon, and PlayStation fans are looking forward to seeing what the blue brand has up its sleeve, given that Xbox and Game Pass have been dominating video game conversations for a while now. From the looks of it, PlayStation definitely has a few irons in the fire, and 2022 could be a big year for the brand.

The stream will begin on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:00 PM PT. The broadcast will be available on both Twitch and Youtube, and the presentation will last approximately 20 minutes.

PlayStation has confirmed that this particular state of the game will specifically focus on upcoming third-party releases targeting PS5 and PS4.

PlayStation State of Play returns tonight

The stream will feature new takes on previously announced games. PlayStation has confirmed that in addition to some openings. What that means is anyone’s guess, but it looks like some announcements have already been leaked as TheGamer reports that games like Final Fantasy XVI as well as WB Games’ Gotham Knights will be featured during State of Play. This is because these games receive new updates on their websites, several days before the state of the game was revealed.

Games such as God of War Ragnarok have been excluded as this particular showcase is specifically for third party releases. As the stream will only be around 20 minutes long, the footage provided will likely not be a detailed gameplay overview, but rather short trailers or gameplay snippets.

The first half of 2022 looks incredibly busy for PlayStation, with big releases already lined up like Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok (no release date confirmed), and Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
