Do PCs Support Controllers for Honkai Star Rail?
Yes! Upon debut, Honkai Star Rail is compatible with PC controllers. Simply plug in your preferred gamepad, and HSR will begin to identify the inputs.
Once you’ve completed the tutorial and are playing, you can effortlessly switch between using a gamepad and a mouse and keyboard. This happens just after the second combat, right after you meet Silver Wolf. Unless you restart the game client, switching between input methods is not permitted while the tutorial is running.
Oddly enough, there isn’t much quality loss while using a gamepad, mouse, and keyboard simultaneously. For instance, you can use a control stick to move the camera while using a face button to control your character’s movement.
The supported gamepads I was able to test are listed below:
- Xbox Wireless Controller
- Xbox Wired Controller
- PlayStation 5 DualSense
- PlayStation 4 DualShock
My PowerA Switch gamepad would not connect to the game, despite my best efforts. A Switch Pro Controller might also function, but I was unable to verify it.
Do iOS and Android mobile devices for Honkai Star Rail support controllers?
Sadly, during launch, Honkai Star Train does not support mobile iOS or Android devices for controller use. You’ll still need to utilize the game’s touch controls to walk around and launch attacks, whether you attach a controller to your phone using Bluetooth or a cable connection.
I tried a number of different gamepads, just like with the PC, but none of them worked.
