With financial support from Take-Two, Interactive GameClub will be able to focus even better on faithfully serving and reselling classic games, allowing users to relive and “purchase” classic gaming experiences that, due to the rapid pace of mobile innovation and development, may no longer be supported by their original developer and publisher.

Take-Two Interactive makes a giant leap in the mobile market

Considered one of the biggest names in the gaming industry, with numerous AAA studios and global blockbusters such as the Grand Theft Auto series, Take-Two Interactive is also at the forefront of mobile gaming along with Zynga, which develops a variety of games in various genres. such as Merge Magic, Harry Potter: Puzzles and Spells and the FarmVille series. Game subscription services such as those offered by GameClub have become increasingly common across all platforms including PlayStation, Apple and Xbox in recent years. Other companies such as Netflix have started offering games as part of their subscription services, which has allowed them to establish themselves in the sector.

Looking ahead, it’s unclear what Take-Two Interactive intends to do with GameClub, but one obvious option would be to use the service as the perfect place to host Zynga games, allowing them to live forever with paying fans. GameClub also said it plans to expand its service with non-mobile games that other games in Take-Two Interactive’s portfolio can offer as part of a subscription service.
