Samsung Galaxy phones will get One UI 4.1.1 update later this year, company confirms

Samsung has been one of the best OEMs over the past few years to deliver Android updates on time as well as security updates for their phones. Over the past few months, the company has updated many of its phones to One UI 4 based on Android 12 in the Galaxy S series, Galaxy M series, as well as the Galaxy A series.

In early 2022, Samsung began rolling out One UI 4.1 software for the Galaxy S22 series. The company has since rolled out the update to other Galaxy devices as well. Now, a new report has confirmed the next iterative update, One UI 4.1.1 coming later this year. More details about this new software version are expected to be revealed later this year.

He also added that version 4.1.1 will take some time to ship and once the update is received it should fix the issues. The report suggests that the One UI 4.1.1 update could be released alongside the next-generation foldable device, which is expected to launch this August. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are expected to be unveiled at the August Unpacked event, with the Galaxy Watch 5 series also being unveiled on the same stage.

Last year, Samsung announced one UI update 3.1.1 for Galax Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices, and later the update was extended to Samsung Galaxy tablets. With One UI 4.1.1, we expect to see several new features on top of the existing One UI 4.1 for foldable and large screen devices. Also, the issues mentioned by the moderator are expected to be fixed with an update. Version 4.1.1 will be based on Android 12 and One UI 5.0 will most likely be based on Android 13 based on the previous track record.
