Telegram launches premium subscription. Lots of extra features and higher limits for $5/month.
Telegram has launched a $5/month Premium subscription since the information was leaked last month. The platform made an official announcement on its blog. Notable features available with this subscription include increased maximum upload file size, faster uploads, more channels, and new unique stickers.

The current file upload limit is 2GB, but Premium users can upload files up to 4GB, which is great for those who upload a lot of videos or large ZIP files (all users can upload large files). Paid users will also be able to download media and files at the maximum speed of their connection, rather than rate limiting.
The premium subscription also doubles down on a few limits, allowing you to follow 1,000 channels, create up to 20 chat folders of 200 chats each, add a fourth account to any Telegram app, pin 10 topics, and save up to 10 favorite stickers. And subscribers will be entitled to unique stickers with full-screen animation that will be visible to all users, as well as unique reactions.

Other features include voice-to-text transcription, chat management, longer bios, animated profile pictures, more characters for media titles, 400 featured GIFs, up to 20 public t.me links, premium badges, and an ad-free experience.
Telegram also announced that it was one of the top five most downloaded apps in the world in 2022. It now has 700 million monthly active users. The platform also introduced several new features for all users, including verification badges for public figures and organizations, requests for public groups, improved bots, improved chat previews on Android, general improvements for iOS, and more.
