The Division: Update on the future of the license with “Division Day”

Ubisoft reveals new information about The Division 2, The Division Heartland and The Division Resurgence.

Massive Entertainment’s The Division 2 expansion will enter its fifth year of content (requires the Warlords of New York DLC) starting next June and will consist of four seasons:

  • Broken Wings will introduce a new roundup method, as well as a new rogue-lite game mode called Descent, which will be available for free to all The Division 2 players starting in Year 5. They will also witness the continuation of the reconstruction, which will last several seasons of the Castle Colony and bring this devastated place back to life with a new purpose. As part of the Season 1 Premium Pass, players will be able to unlock parts of the Splinter Cell themed costume to help 5th Freedom fight their way through DC and New York.
  • The puppeteers will force the agents to go to Meret’s domain for another confrontation with the Purifiers.
  • Vanguard will invite agents to return to New York for the holidays to uncover new revelations about Aaron Keener and his fraudulent agents.
  • Black Diamond will unlock new areas, new main missions, as well as a completely new endgame structure.

Each season will also offer new roundups, new leagues, and new events for Year 5 of The Division 2. Please note that the new Descent game mode is now playable on PC via the public test server. Finally, from April 25 to May 9, Resident Evil hero Leon Kennedy’s costume will be free for all players who log into the game during this period.

The Division Heartland, a free to play first-person shooter game based on the principles of “test and learn”.

In The Division Heartland, the base of operations will be a shared space. The latter will be located at the abandoned Rocky Rink, where players can meet up, form a party, customize their character, and prepare for their next operation.

Planned for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC, The Division Heartland will soon be playable in multiple closed beta stages.

Gameplay The Division Heartland

Each session of The Division Heartland will begin and end at the Base of Operations, and players will pick up the materials and equipment they’ve collected each time they Exfiltrate to better prepare for what’s to come. They will also need to use the base of operations to craft supplies and prepare their travel bag before heading out on a mission to the city. Before each session, they will be able to choose one of three classes: “Weapon Expert”, “Medic”and “Survivor”.

Each class will have a unique ability, and in the squad, everyone will complement each other. Going on an expedition during the day will require players to gather supplies and prepare to survive the night. Indeed, as night falls, Silver Creek will become much more volatile due to PvEvP gameplay that will force players to think fast and work together to survive and save their loot.

The Division Resurgence, a mobile opus to be tested soon

The Division Resurgence takes place in the same world as The Division and The Division 2, but with a story independent of the two games. This summer, The Division Resurgence will be available on iOS and Android in select countries as part of a test phase that requires registration on the site of the official free-to-play third-person shooter RPG.
