Adidas illustrates the history of the legendary Madrid team with an original creation that combines football and manga.
Produced by Spanish production company BOL Production House and Argentinean animation studio 2veinte, Grandeza’s Odyssey follows Sarah, Moussa and Ruben, three soccer-involved teenagers who are sucked into a parallel universe after they enter the doors of a mysterious barbershop. While the Santiago Bernabò Stadium, Real Madrid’s historic site, is populated by supernatural forces, they will have to overcome their fears by calling on the spirit of the “grandez”(grandez in Molière’s language), symbolized by the presence of Karim Benzema, one of the club’s best strikers and favorites for the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
Content creators Kamel “Kameto”Kebir and Mohamed “Momo”Henny, singer Ronicia Mendez Morges, comedian Hakim Jemili and rapper Valentin “Wald”Le Du appear in the anime L’Odyssée Grandeza commissioned by MNSTR for Adidas, the official outfitter of Real Madrid since the late 1990s.
