The Witcher 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series X: new release date announced

The next generation version of The Witcher 3 will be available at the end of the year.

Originally scheduled for the end of last year, then spring, then postponed indefinitely, The Witcher 3’s release on next-gen consoles is now set for the end of the year (October, November or December): “In accordance with the recommendations of the people in charge of development, CD Projekt’s board of directors approves launch in the fourth quarter of 2022.”

Recall that the next generation version of The Witcher 3 will receive technical and visual improvements, such as reduced loading times and ray tracing. Anyone with the PS4 or Xbox One version will be able to get a free upgrade to the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft. Same opportunity for PC players. CD Projekt RED Community Manager Marcin Momot also revealed that it will include the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine paid expansions, all previously released free DLC and patches, as well as new bonus content inspired by the Netflix series The Witcher.
