If you’ve been jailbreaking an iPhone or iPad for a number of years, then you should be at least a little familiar with Filza, arguably the most popular file management app available today.
On Tuesday, TIGI Software released Filza File Manager version 3.9.5, which updates the popular app to support TrollStore’s permanent signature utility on jailbroken iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1 devices.
This is a particularly important development as it allows the app to be permanently downloaded on a device, jailbroken or not. Other changes in this update include support for the Fish shell for TrollStore users, as well as user interface improvements and bug fixes.
Thanks to the elevated privileges offered by the exploit used by TrollStore, this version of Filza allows users to not only read /var but also write to it. TrollStore developer Opa334 adds that this version of Filza includes a root helper, which means it supports full file system access like on jailbroken devices.
Obviously, users will not be able to install jailbreak tweaks on Filza installed on a non-jailbroken device using TrollStore, because there is no implementation of the tweak on a non-jailbroken device. On the other hand, users can still change system files through Filza.
