TikTok should offer browsing history soon

TikTok is testing a section dedicated to video viewing history, a good idea that will definitely need to be improved.

In applications like YouTube we find a feature, at least basic, but very useful from time to time, namely the browsing history, which makes it easy to view the videos you have recently seen. It is convenient to find, if necessary, a particular video. Today, if Hammod Oh’s post is to be believed, it looks like the TikTok platform is currently testing a similar feature on its app. Thus, users will soon be able to easily find videos they have already seen.

TikTok to test video history section

However, keep in mind that this possibility is actually not new. Indeed, TikTok has visual indicators to let you know if you’ve already seen a particular video. Users can also exclude previously watched videos from the Discover tab, but this isn’t exactly intuitive, especially for new users who aren’t necessarily familiar with the app.

Good idea that needs to be improved

Creating a dedicated section that lists the videos we’ve already seen makes it easier and faster to find specific content. At the same time, one can still wonder about the practical side of the matter. Indeed, unlike YouTube videos, which are longer, TikTok content is meant to be watched intensively, so to speak. Thus, in half an hour in the application, we can easily watch from 20 to 30 videos. And within a week, it will be very difficult to find a specific video in this way.

In any case, it’s good to see the appearance of this feature anyway. There is no doubt that in the future it will be supplemented at the request of users. At the moment it is only in the testing phase. It is impossible to know if the platform is already planning to offer it to all users and even more so when. Patience, patience.
