Tinder is further strengthening the security of its app with new special features and updates.
Today, in time for Safer Internet Day and with Valentine’s Day approaching, Tinder has begun rolling out new security features and updates to other users. Users will now be able to take advantage of incognito mode, which Tinder says is a “step forward”from completely hiding your profile. This way, only the people you like will be able to see you in their recommendations. This should give you more control over visibility.
Tinder further tightens the security of its app
In addition, it becomes possible to block profiles that appear in your offers. This will help you avoid (re-)crossing paths with an ex or someone you know well (colleague or family member). This follows from a feature that allows you to block users by phone number.
Another security feature appears, reporting a long press. If you receive an offensive message, you can long press on it to report it. Tinder explains that it wants to encourage users to report bad behavior more often so they can take action against those who don’t follow the rules.
With new special features and updates
At the same time, Tinder is also making some changes to the Are You Sure feature, which asks for confirmation before sending a message containing possible offensive language, and Do You Mind, which prompts you to report inappropriate conversations. Tinder explains that these features will now better detect offensive or inappropriate language, whether it be hate speech, sexual harassment or otherwise. The company says it has received 46% more reports since the introduction of Does It Worry.
Alongside these updates, Tinder is also releasing Healthy Dating Guides in conjunction with the No More campaign to end domestic violence and sexual assault. These guides are thoughtful and designed to help users spot warning signs and protect themselves at every stage of a relationship. Starting today, Tinder is also launching a campaign called “Green Flags”on safety measures and other actions people can take to make online dating safe.
