The American studio Crystal Dynamics is developing a new Tomb Raider on the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine from Epic Games.
While they are busy continuing to work on Marvel’s Avengers and developing Microsoft’s Perfect Dark reboot with The Initiative, Crystal Dynamics is also working on the next chapter of the Tomb Raider saga on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC using the new version. Unreal Engine is a graphics engine created by publisher Epic Games (Fortnite).
“We are proud to partner with Epic Games to use Unreal Engine 5. This new graphics engine brings a new level of storytelling to games,” said Dallas Dickinson, CEO of Crystal Dynamics. “ And that’s why we’re excited to announce today that we’ve just started developing our next Tomb Raider game on the UE5 platform. Our goal is to push the boundaries of authenticity and create the high-quality, cinematic action-adventure that Crystal Dynamics fans and Tomb Raider licenses deserve. We look forward to taking this journey together. “
