The TrollStore permanent signature utility from iOS developer opa334 was updated to version 1.2 late Tuesday night with support for a new install method called TrollHelperOTA and several different bug fixes.
Opa334 made the announcement via Twitter with a link to the project’s official GitHub page, which contains the following changelog:
– Support for detecting save state helper installed in TrollHelperOTA custom app – Actually fixing connection issues in Chinese (?), thanks to @Halo-Michael – Fix save helper black screen when installed in apps using SceneDelegate
Perhaps the most significant change in TrollStore v1.2 is that it now supports a new install method called TrollHelperOTA, which appears to replace the old TrollInstaller(2) method. Opa334 notes on Twitter and on the GitHub page that the old TrollInstaller(2) method is now deprecated, meaning that it no longer recommends this installation method.
Other changes in this v1.2 update appear to be bug fixes, including a fix for a connectivity issue affecting Chinese devices and a fix for a black screen affecting save assistant when installed in certain apps.
In another set of tweets, opa334 explained that TrollHelperOTA is essentially a TrollHelper/TrollPersistenceHelper embedded in the App Store app.
We also learned that the CoreTrust bug used by TrollStore, although fixed in iOS 15.5 Release Candidate (RC), reappeared in iOS 15.6 Beta and was fixed again in iOS 15.6 RC. With that in mind, it now appears that it will be possible to install TrollStore on the iOS 15.6 beta as well.
All existing TrollStore users can install the latest update using the OTA mechanism in the TrollStore app. If you’re not already using TrollStore, you can go to the GitHub project page to get the file. ipa and use our guides.
