Apple Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge has a winner from Kolhapur

Since the launch of the iPhone 13 series, Apple has been pushing the camera phones, especially the Pro models. In an effort to showcase the capabilities of the cameras in the latest iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, the company introduced them to the audience by asking them to enter a Shot on iPhone competition. As part of a contest that started a few weeks ago, iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max users were asked to submit some of their best macro shots. For those who don’t know, macro mode is the latest addition to the list of iPhone camera features. The phones use the same ultra-wide-angle camera lens for this feature, which non-professional models don’t. Now, the firm has finally named 10 winners of the competition, “who light up the global and diverse community of iPhone photographers.”

According to Apple, the finalists are from China, Hungary, India, Italy, Spain, Thailand and the United States. Images captured by them in macro mode on the Pro models will be featured on apple.com, Apple’s Instagram (@apple) and on billboards in select cities.

Prajwal Chugul, Winner from Kolhapur

“Art in Nature”(web) Prajwal Chugul.

“I am a nature lover and love to walk in the early morning with my iPhone 13 Pro. Golden Hour brings out the best in nature and is a pleasure for the photographer. The dew drops on the web caught my attention, and I was fascinated by how the dry web silk formed a necklace, on which the dew shone like pearls. It was like a work of art on the canvas of nature,” added Chugul, describing an image captured in the macro mode of the iPhone 13 Pro.

Most of the other winners took close-up shots of flowers, leaves, and even sea glass.

The winners were selected by an international jury: Anand Varma, Apeksha Maker, Peter McKinnon, Paddy Chao, Yik Keith Lee, Arem Duplessis, Billy Sorrentino, Della Huff, Kayann Drance and Pamela Chen.

If you have an iPhone 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max, you can access macro mode by switching to the ultra wide-angle lens. 5x and getting close to the object. Apple says the main focus point should be closer to the center of the frame.
