Uber is ending its Uber Rewards program this fall

Uber is ending its Uber Rewards loyalty program. Users have until October 31st to use their rewards. Uber is now betting on Uber One.

Uber has decided to end its free loyalty program. On a help page spotted by The Verge, the company explains that it will end its Uber Rewards program on November 1st. Users have until the end of August to earn points and can claim their rewards no later than October 31st.

Uber ends its Uber Rewards loyalty program

Announced in 2018, the Uber Rewards program gave users the opportunity to earn points for every Uber and Uber Eats transaction they made. There were four different levels in the program, and participants unlocked new benefits at each level. The Platinum tier, for example, offered dynamic pricing protection and priority over airport pickup.

Users have until October 31st to use their rewards.

Uber will not offer a direct replacement for its Uber Rewards program. Instead, the company intends to promote its paid Uber One program. Offered for $10 a month, the service offers perks such as free delivery of Uber Eats and a 5% discount for top-rated Uber drivers.

Uber now relies on Uber One

“Thank you for participating in Uber Rewards,”the company said in an email announcing the program’s closure. “It’s been a great ride, but we’ve decided to close Rewards soon and focus on our new Uber One membership program.”Uber will offer existing Rewards users a one-month free trial of Uber One. After this period, you will need to subscribe if you wish to continue enjoying the benefits offered by the service.

The end of an era is definitely an opportunity for Uber to increase its revenue by attracting more users to its Uber One subscription. If they agree to pay the required amount, of course. To be continued!
