Ubisoft is interrupting The Division 2 update process. The start of the new season has been postponed again.

Multiplayer fans are now very familiar with the seasonal system and its regular rescheduling, but The Division 2 players are in a particularly strange situation. Ubisoft said a development “bug”broke the build generation system of the online tactical shooter and open-world action RPG video game, preventing the studio from updating the game. The team is unable to launch the new season, which they delayed last week, but they also cannot extend the current season until the build function is fixed.

Ubisoft explains that it has already made “a lot of progress”in recent days on fixing this bug, and that a fix is very close. The company recently launched “unscheduled maintenance”, taking the opportunity to fix various issues, including the inability to make seasonal purchases in the game, after a few hours the servers returned online.
In any case, the timing of this big bug is especially limited. Ubisoft recently canceled three games due to plummeting revenues, and last month workers at the Paris studio went on strike to protest what they see as unfair working conditions. The publisher’s situation is very delicate and it will probably take some time to restore some stability.
