The Universal Apple Team is finally here

The Apple Universal Team is available in public beta. Will it be available to everyone soon?

Each year during Apple’s WWDC, the Cupertino-based company announces a number of new software features. Most will see the light of day in the next major version of the OS, but some may be delayed or even simply abandoned for various reasons. Here’s the one that finally arrived, Universal Team.

Apple Universal Command is available in public beta

It was one of the big features announced by Apple during WWDC 2021, a feature that was supposed to join macOS, Universal Command. However, this was not offered to the general public and was not present in the following minor versions. The delays are multiplying again and again, forcing users of the Apple brand ecosystem to believe the worst, namely its cancellation.

Will it be available to everyone soon?

The good news is that Apple now seems to think it’s ready. Indeed, in the latest public betas of macOS and iPadOS, Universal Command has finally arrived. In other words, if you’re on the public betas or willing to do so, you can test this long-awaited new feature before it’s released to the public.

For those who don’t know, Universal Command is nothing but a combination of several macOS and iPadOS features. This allows users to drag and drop content from a Mac to an iPad in real time and vice versa. Users can also use the mouse cursor between devices. In other words, they can easily and quickly switch between devices according to their needs.

This is a very nice feature, at least on paper, that users have been looking forward to since its official presentation during WWDC 2021. Today it is available in public beta. Hopefully it will be in the final version soon.
