Vivo is rumored to be working on a foldable smartphone. The company is expected to launch its new flagship foldable smartphone in China later this year. Previously, there were rumors that the device would launch as the Vivo NEX 5. However, a new report claims that the company’s first foldable smartphone will be called the Vivo X Fold.

The Vivo X Fold is expected to launch in China soon. According to reports, the foldable model could debut later this month in China. Tipster Digital Chat Station (via GizmoChina) has revealed the foldable phone’s specs and features. Tipster claims that the foldable phone’s outer display will feature a curved screen. At the top there will be a cutout for a hole puncher. The protective screen will have a height of 6.5 inches and Full HD + resolution. It’s taller than the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which has a 6.2-inch display. The X Fold’s external display will also feature Full HD+ resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
The device is said to have an inward-folding display. It will have an 8-inch QHD+ screen. The folding screen will also feature a 120Hz refresh rate display. There will be a hole punch cutout that is said to be on the right half of the folding screen.
Vivo is expected to be equipped with top-notch hardware. It will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which is the latest flagship chipset for smartphones released in 2022. Nothing is said about RAM and storage options. The phone will have a 4600 mAh battery. It will come with support for 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
The specs leak also reveals that the phone will have a quad-camera setup. It will feature a 50MP main camera and a 48MP ultra-wide camera. The device will also feature a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom and an 8MP sensor that will support 5x zoom. Details about the two front camera sensors remain unknown.
