Sony Pictures Entertainment is banking on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to democratize animation in movies
In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, directed by Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers and written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and David Callaham, Miles Morales returns in an epic adventure that takes Brooklyn’s Spider-Man, the friendly permanent neighbor, travels across the multiverse to join the forces of Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-Men to confront a villain more powerful than anyone they’ve ever met.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will hit theaters on June 2, 2023. Sony Pictures Entertainment is also preparing a sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024. Note that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse grossed over $384 million worldwide and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2019.
