This year’s Apple Watch Activity Challenge, dedicated to national parks, kicks off August 27th.

Apple has made a habit of celebrating national parks in the US in August, and this year seems to be no different. The company will have a brand new Activity Challenge for Apple Watch owners launching later this month. And, as usual, those who reach the goal will receive some digital rewards.

This year’s Activity Challenge, dedicated to national parks in the United States, kicks off on August 27, 2022. To earn the digital medal pictured above (via MacRumors), Apple Watch owners will be tasked with walking one mile (or more). hiking, wheelchair, walking or running.

Let’s celebrate the beauty of national parks everywhere. On August 27, you will receive this award by recording a walk, walk, run, or wheelchair workout of a mile (1.6 km) or more with any app that adds workouts to Health.

Of course, a digital medal is not the only prize for completing a task. If the Apple Watch owner completes the challenge, they will also receive some animated stickers. These stickers can be shared via iMessage, so the Apple Watch owner can really show off their accomplishments.

We’re still waiting to see what else Apple will do to celebrate US national parks. The company tends to get pretty big with the annual Apple Watch Activity Challenge, with promotions offered in Apple Pay, among other destinations and services.
