The LG 5K UltraFine Monitor is still in production, and both models will continue to be available from the Apple Store.
After the formalization of Apple Studio Display, we noticed the disappearance of the LG 5K UltraFine monitor in the Apple Store. We could only think that the marketing of the product was stopped, as is often the case with the launch of a new generation. It seems like finally nothing. Apple and LG apparently aren’t done with these monitors yet.
LG 5K UltraFine monitor still in production
At least that’s what the Wall Street Journal report says. LG told US Daily that its 5K UltraFine monitors are still in production and production. It would seem that their disappearance from the Apple Store was simply due to a shortage in stock. Therefore, they are indeed still produced and sold commercially.
Keep in mind, however, that due to component shortages, LG hasn’t been able to ship new stock as quickly as it would like, but the company hopes to do so as early as next month.
Both links will continue to be offered in the Apple Store.
As for why someone might want to buy this LG 5K UltraFrine display and not the new Studio Display, know that this product costs $300 less than an Apple-branded monitor. This makes it the perfect device for those who don’t need a built-in webcam, speakers, or the A13 Bionic chip.
These two screens offer the same resolution, namely 5K. In other words, if you’re looking for a slightly more affordable 5K display, you might be better off waiting for the LG 5K UltraFine to be back on sale rather than investing in an otherwise in very poor condition Apple Studio Display.
