For the past few months, users of the Dealabs forum have been able to properly spread the word about free PS Plus games, and it looks like they hit the mark again. According to a new post on Dealabs, the free PS Plus games for PS4 and PS5 are Deep Rock Galactic, DiRT 5, and Persona 5 Strikers.
While this has yet to be confirmed by PlayStation, given the track record of Dealabs users over the past few months, they will most likely be right again. If the games leak is correct, it looks like the free-to-play lineup is pretty strong this time around. Last month’s games, Mortal Shell and Godfall: Challenger Edition, were two good deals, and it looks like PlayStation is continuing that trend.
PS Plus free games for January leaked ahead of schedule
The success of Game Pass has been the subject of much talk in the gaming community, and it looks like Sony may be working on a service similar to their green rival. PS Now is up and running at best so far, and it leaves a lot of room for improvement. Sony is reportedly currently working on said service and may have plans to launch it in the spring of 2022.
A PS Plus subscription could come bundled with Sony’s purported new Game Pass-like service, similar to how Xbox Live Gold comes bundled with a Game Pass subscription. PS Plus is still only serviceable so far, free games have been great for a few months, while others have been rather lackluster.
It will be interesting to see what Sony’s approach will be later in the console generation, and if PS Plus undergoes a major makeover to compete with Game Pass or launch a new service altogether.
