Discord launches subscription servers in the US. When in France?
After a year of testing, Discord is finally ready to allow more creators to offer subscriptions to their fans. The platform has enabled server subscriptions for all eligible US server owners. Your favorite streamer or social media star will now be able to offer exclusive content and/or features at prices they set themselves. So you can take advantage of bonus videos, get early access to derivative products, vote to be heard, and more.

Discord also indicates that creators will receive 90% of the subscription fee paid by subscribers. They can also use the new promotional web page feature to promote their paid options. All server owners are eligible if they are located in the United States, agree to the terms of service, and have no “recent”rule violations.
This long test period reflects Discord’s desire to excel in this server subscription feature. As CMO Jesse Wofford told Engadget last year, this feature has been thought of and designed to help generate recurring revenue from the platform. Theoretically, a creator can make significant profits through their Discord community.
When in France?
It’s hard to say if this will have a real impact on the creators. This will depend on the services they are already using to access Discord. Patreon asks for 5% monthly income before payments are processed, but subscription offers and some other perks are not available unless the creator leaves 8-12% Patreon. In addition, server owners should be divided between two departments. This new Discord feature makes signing up easy.
