After several weeks of teasers, Riot has officially unveiled the next agent that will appear in Valorant – Fade. The new agent will most likely be introduced in the third act, which will be released at the end of April. The agent will receive full character information along with gameplay at the Masters Reykjavik Grand Final on April 24th.
Feyd has been confirmed as the initiating agent, but her abilities and recruitment have yet to be revealed. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Fade can affect the movement of enemies and prevent them from advancing.
There are currently 4 Initiator Agents in Valorant, and Fade will be the fifth Initiator Agent on the list.
Fade, Valorant’s newest initiator agent
So far, Fade looks like one of the darkest characters in Valorant and will probably add some horror to the game. While her abilities have yet to be revealed, Riot previously shared some details about Fade in a recent State of the Agents blog post, explaining that Fade’s abilities will have “an intimate feel when hunting enemies.”
Fade is also mentioned in patch 4.07, where players can listen to an audio recording at the shooting range of the team that captured Fade.
Based on the published illustrations, Fade can individually target members of the enemy team and shroud them in darkness. It will be interesting to see how the community reacts to Fade and how exactly it fits into the Act III Valorant meta.
Valorant continues to grow in popularity by leaps and bounds and has become one of the most loved competitive shooters on PC. Despite intense competition from games such as Rainbow Six Siege and other tactical shooters, the game has managed to find its core audience, which is growing with each new subsequent update.
