Valve now has over 5,000 games officially compatible with Steam Deck, and this is a long-standing list that will help gamers a lot.
Valve wants to help Steam Deck owners and potentially interested gamers easily find out which games can be played on a portable console. Through its verification program, the studio wants players to be able to know at a glance if a particular game is compatible. Testing every game in existence is a long process if a studio decides to go that far, but Valve has now reached a major milestone by certifying over 5,000 games as Tested or Playable in the Steam deck.
Valve now has over 5,000 games officially compatible with Steam Deck.
If Valve displays a “Verified”label on a game, it means that Steam Deck will be able to run it, possibly with a few minor issues. If Valve displays “Playable”, the game will work, but the experience may not be the best. On the other hand, Valve has listed around 2,000 games as “unsupported”according to SteamDB, meaning they don’t work. But this does not mean that the situation will never change.
These numbers in any case suggest that Valve has tested at least 7,000 Steam games on its console. There is still a long way to go to test them all as there are over 50,000 titles on the platform. It should be noted that most of the games that are currently labeled as “Unknown”work fine in the Steam deck, even without the “Verified”or “Playable”labels.
Long Term SEO
Valve uses four criteria to evaluate Steam Deck compatibility. Support for the controller (and, if necessary, the virtual keyboard) or possible compatibility warnings are especially requested. The studio is also looking for compatibility with the native screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and whether the game has any issues with the Proton platform that Valve uses to run Windows games.
which will help the players a lot.
Today, Steam Deck runs a huge roster of games, more than most people can do in a lifetime, and it’s a great thing for gamers regardless of profile and habits. It should also be of great interest to all those who are still waiting for their Steam deck to ship as Valve has increased the production rate in recent months. If you reserve yours now, you should receive it before the end of the year.
And at the same time, Valve unveiled the top 10 most popular games on Steam Deck in August. These include Elden Ring, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, MultiVersus, and Vampire Survivors.
