Valve’s Steam Deck is by far one of the most exciting gaming devices of the year, and now users have the opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the device. Valve has posted the CAD files for the device so that users can 3D print the outer shell themselves.
These files will allow repairers, modders, accessory makers and hardware enthusiasts to 3D print the outer shell. CAD files are available for download under a Creative Commons license. CAD files contain the outer shell (surface topology) of a device.
This is a great move by Valve to allow users and possibly accessory makers to develop things for the Steam Deck before launch. CAD files can be downloaded from this link.

The device will launch on February 25, with the first invitations sent shortly after 10:00 AM (Pacific Standard Time) on the same day. Customers who have reserved their device will have 3 days from receipt of the order email to complete their purchase.
Otherwise, the reservation will be passed on to the next person in line. Booking emails are sent in the same order in which bookings were made. The first batch of devices will ship to customers starting February 28, with new order emails sent weekly.
Steam Deck has been making a lot of noise lately with the list of “Verified”games now running at 300. This includes big AAA hits like God of War, Resident Evil 2, Death Stranding and more. It will be interesting to see what Steam Deck accessories will be available after launch, and how the device will be received post-launch.
