BGMI Lite Version May Launch Soon, Official Poll Suggests

Battlegrounds Mobile India could get a “lite”version very soon. The developers are teasing that they are working on a lite version of BGMI on the official Discord channel. It’s quite possible that a lite version of the popular battle royale could be coming to India soon as PUBG Mobile Lite has been banned in the country. Before the ban, PUBG Mobile Lite was very popular among low-end device users. The game had almost the same feature set but offered lower graphics. No release date for the BGMI Lite app has yet been announced. However, after the teaser survey, we can expect the developers to release the app soon.

Incoming BGMI Lite?

The official BGMI Discord channel asked players why they want a lite version of the app to be released. It includes four poll options that players can choose from:

  • I can’t play BGMI on my younger device.
  • I can play BGMI but I will have better frame rate and performance in the Lite version on my device.
  • I spent money in Lite version and want to transfer my data/inventory
  • I like maps and skins in Lite version.

While this is just a survey, Krafton may actually be working on a lighter version of the app. Popular esports player Abhijit “Ghatak”has stated (via SportsKeeda) that a lite version of Battlegrounds Mobile India could arrive by the end of December or earlier.

If launched, BGMI Lite will likely have the same set of hardware and software requirements that PUBG Mobile Lite requires. These include a minimum of 1 GB of RAM, approximately 600 MB of free disk space, and the device must be running Android 4.0.3 at a minimum. It is unknown if the Lite app will be available on iOS after launch. The PUBG Mobile Lite app also included small maps with 60 players each.

As of now, there is no official news from Krafton about the BGMI Lite app other than a survey on the Discord channel.
