The hands-on, step-by-step video walks you through the design and hardware features of the tablet, then moves on to the setup process and shows you how to change key settings and get the most out of it.

In the video, Harris explains the pros and cons of using an original Apple stylus versus third-party styluses, talks about the new Apple Magic Keyboard Folio, and highlights a few other useful accessories available for this tablet.

iPad 10, elevator step

Apple unveiled the tenth generation iPad in a press release posted on its website on October 18, 2022. The tablet uses USB-C for charging and data transfer.

It has adopted the design language of the iPad Pro with thin bezels and square edges. As we’ve seen on the iPad Air, Touch ID is built into the top button.

The iPad 10 also debuted a horizontal FaceTime camera for more natural video calls. It was introduced in vibrant colors including blue, pink and yellow [specs].

The price went up from $329 to $449, but the previous $329 model remained in the lineup. Read the press release in Apple Newsroom for more information.

Our opinion: not so budget anymore

This iPad used to be the so-called budget iPad. It’s the only Apple tablet that can compete with a Chromebook for the money. We’re not sure if Apple has decided to cede the education market to Google, but the new iPad is hard to sell to schools.

If you buy the Apple Pencil ($99) along with the Magic Keyboard Folio ($249), you’re closer to the $800 mark. You can buy a Chromebook with a keyboard and stylus for a lot less. Even Microsoft’s Surface Go seems like a better deal.

However you look at it, it’s undeniable that Apple’s strategy to enter the tablet market is the worst it’s ever been – it’s no longer clear which model to buy.
