The Meta Connect event will take place on October 11th. The Meta Quest Pro headset should be part of the party, and so is the Metaverse, of course.
About a month later, the annual event of the American giant Meta Connect, dedicated to augmented and virtual reality, will take place. The event, renamed following Facebook’s name change, will take place on October 11, and it was Mark Zuckerberg who announced it personally in a post posted on Facebook.
The Meta Connect event will take place on October 11th.
Like last year, the event will be completely virtual and will be streamed live on the Reality Labs Facebook page. So far, only a few official details are known, but the bulk of this appointment is still a mystery. The Meta Connect website says that more information about the speakers and the exact schedule of the day will be published “soon”.
The Meta Quest Pro headset should be part of the party
In any case, we already know what to expect. Meta should finally formalize its Cambria project, its new VR headset that could be trade-named Meta Quest Pro. In a Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg appears to be teasing this high-profile announcement, with a photo of him wearing an almost fully concealed helmet. The Meta big boss also most recently promised “major updates”to Horizon’s avatars, after being heavily criticized for “too low-res”rendering in general.
Mark Zuckerberg and the Meta Quest Pro headset? Meta
just like the metaverse obviously
It’s also the company’s first major VR event since Mark Zuckerberg announced last fall that he was rebranding Facebook as Meta. At the time, the CEO was trying to clarify his vision for the metaverse and the role of the social network in it. But this vision was not always very clear. And the idea of a “metaverse” is still confusing. And sometimes even ridicule, as the reaction to the profile picture of Mark Zuckerberg showed. Meta Connect will also provide the giant with an opportunity to spark interest in its latest product, as well as a possible metaverse that is still being convinced.
