Vivo X90 and X90 Pro, serious competitors to the Samsung Galaxy S23?

Vivo X90 and X90 Pro will compete with Samsung Galaxy S23. Coming soon to France?

Just a few days after Samsung launched its Galaxy S23 flagships, China’s Vivo, in turn, has shown what it does best. Thus, the manufacturer has designed its Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, two high-performance smartphones with a long and very interesting list of features.

The X90 Pro is the more powerful of the two, with a 6.78-inch curved screen and 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 9200/Vivo V2 combo chip, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The device packs an impressive 4870mAh battery with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging that delivers a 100% charge in just 29 minutes. But if you need to move even faster, you can switch to fast charging, which allows the X90 Pro to go from 1 to 50% in 8 minutes and 10 seconds.

The X90 Pro also offers a very interesting photo module with a round bump on the back, a 50MP ZEISS main lens, a 50MP portrait lens, and a 12MP wide-angle lens. Instead of opting for a large optical zoom like Samsung’s, the Vivo focuses on portraits, which is great if you’d rather photograph people than landscapes, for example. The main lens should also be very good, as it is equipped with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, the largest sensor on the market today, which can be found in the Xiaomi 13 Pro launched in December. On the front, we find a 32-megapixel lens at the top of the device in the middle through a hole.

Other specs include IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, dual stereo speakers and a 24-layer liquid cooling system that Vivo claims is the most impressive X Pro ever. The device also offers a black vegan leather back panel, which sets it apart from its glass competitors.

The X90 is exactly the same size and shares most of the features of the X90 Pro, including the display, processor, and fast-charging battery (no wireless charging, though). The main difference is in the photomodule, with a 12-megapixel portrait lens instead of a 50-megapixel one, and in design: the Vivo X90 has a glass back cover, two-tone (blue or black). Both models run Vivo Funtouch OS 13, a proprietary overlay based on Android 13.

Vivo X90 Pro will be available in Asia and Europe, while X90 is reserved for Asian markets. Prices and date of arrival in France are still unknown.
