The FBI arrests the owner of the dark website BreachForums. Pompompurine has been linked to numerous hacks, including several that targeted the FBI.
U.S. authorities announced they recently arrested a man believed to be responsible for the 2021 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) hack. According to Krebs on Security, FBI agents arrested Conor Brian Fitzpatrick a few days ago on suspicion that he was the owner of BreachForums. As Brian Krebs points out, the Pompompurine site administrator is responsible for, or very close to, some very high-profile hacks in recent times, including numerous incidents involving the FBI.

In 2021, Pompompurin claimed responsibility for hacking the US National Intelligence email servers and sending thousands of false cybersecurity alerts. Pompompurine has also been linked to the 2022 FBI InfraGard Hack, an incident in which the contact information of more than 80,000 of its members was put up for sale online. Pompompurine is also directly or indirectly linked to the 2021 Robinhood hack that compromised the data of at least 7 million users, as well as the 2022 Twitter data breach.
Pompompurine can be linked to many hacks, including several that target the FBI.
In a sworn statement, one of the FBI agents involved in the arrest claims that Conor Brian Fitzpatrick introduced himself as Pompompurin and admitted to being the head of BreachForums. This forum was born from the late RaidForums, which the FBI shut down manu militari last year. At the time of this writing, BreachForums is still up and running. “I don’t think we can say that [Pompompurine] will be back, so today I’m taking charge of the forum,”said a user named Baphomet. “I have most if not all of the access needed to protect BF’s infrastructure and users.”Conor Brian Fitzpatrick will appear in federal court on March 24.
