A new version of the Clive Barker horror classic, created by Hulu in collaboration with Spyglass Media Group.
Directed by David Bruckner, written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, with assistance from producers David S. Goyern, Keith Levine, Clive Barker, Mark Toberoff, Gary Barber, Peter Oilatagerre, Todd Williams and Chris Stone. A woman struggling with drug addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that her purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.
“Hellraiser”
Hellraiser will be available on October 7th on Hulu in the US. The cast includes Odessa A’tzion (Grand Army), Jamie Clayton (The L Word: Generation Q, Sense8), Adam Faison (It’ll be alright, Yes Day), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks, The Devil for All Seasons), Brandon Flynn (Ratched, 13 Reasons Why), Aoife Hinds (Long Call, Normal People), Jason Liles (Stereoscope, Rampage), Yinka Olorunnife (Transporter), Selina Lo (Boss Level, Q8 Unleashed), Zachary Hing (Halo), Keith Clark (Leonardo), Goran Visnjic (Boys, Out of Time) and Khiam Abbass (Descendants, Blade Runner 2049).
For reference, the original film, which introduced horror fans to the iconic monster known as Pinhead, features a woman who stumbles upon her brother-in-law’s partially formed, newly resurrected body. She then proceeds to kill in order for him to revive his body so he can escape the demonic creatures that have been chasing him ever since he escaped their sadistic underworld himself. Clive Barker directed the film from his own screenplay, based on his 1986 short story “Hellbound Heart”. Claire Higgins, Ashley Lawrence, Andrew Robinson, Sean Chapman, Robert Hines, Doug Bradley, Nicholas Vince, Simon Bamford, Grace Kirby and Oliver Smith are the main actors.
