Elden Ring is known and loved for a very rich open world. What if we tell you that this game has turned into an 8-bit adventure game? You read it right. This completely insane project is the work of Reddit user Shintendo, who posted the first demo of his work. Direction Chapel of Waiting. Tarnished takes on the infamous grafted Scion boss (and loses again). The gameplay is still quite rough, but overall it fits the spirit of the game, adding to the nostalgia for the Nintendo Game Boy era.

The animation style, meanwhile, is a real treat, with the protagonist moving around the environment just like in a real game, and the “press B to attack”screens and the like are direct nods to the Game Boy era. In addition, this creation reflects the fighting style of iconic console games such as Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
Shintendo explains that this remake – unlike the remake – was made with GB Studio 3.0 and points out that it can be played on a real Nintendo Game Boy. A decent demo should be available at the end of May on Itch.io, a platform that already offers a PC remake of Bloodborne reimagined as a PS1 game.
