golden armor

First on our list, and probably the best in the game, is the Golden Armor. This boosts your stats to maximum defense. But you can only get this armor during the last parts of the game. It can be found in a lakeside bunker southeast of the snowy mountains, for which you’ll need a maintenance key. Bone armor

Crafting Items:

  • x4 Dice
  • x1 adhesive tape
  • x1 Rope

Bone armor is another tough armor in Sons of the Forest. This is one of the best armor to protect against mutants in the forest throughout the game. Bone Armor greatly increases your defensive stats, and the materials to craft it are also fairly easy to find. The best part is that you can get it quite early in the game. You will be able to create your first set after killing 5-6 mutants in the first few hours of the game.

Technical armor

Crafting Items:

  • x1 tech mesh
  • x1 adhesive tape
  • x1 battery
  • x1 wire
  • x1 circuit board
  • Printer Resin 250 ml (for Tech Mesh)

There’s a reason we didn’t put tech armor higher on this list. While it provides a decent boost to your damage reduction, the cost to craft it far outweighs the benefits it provides. Some of the items, like the Tech Mesh, must be crafted first before you can use them. And the worst part is that you have to craft 10 items over and over to make tech armor. This process can also take a lot of your energy, time and money. If you’re up for it, here’s a crafting recipe to keep in mind:

hide armor

Crafting Items:

  • x1 cloth
  • x2 animal skin

One of the benefits of Hide armor is that it keeps your players out of the cold. But that’s not all, armor can also give you a decent protective cover. As the name suggests, you will need to kill and skin an animal in order to get the hide armor. The best way is to kill deer to accumulate the hide. You can do this by sneaking up on them or by attacking them with ranged weapons. They are not that strong, but are quite fast and can run away in the blink of an eye. In addition, you can also get skins after killing the Goose.

Spooky Armor

Crafting Items:

  • Skin mutant
  • Combat knife

Spooky armor is one of the easiest armor in the game. Since you will face hordes of mutants, you will definitely get a crafting material after killing them. All you need is a dead mutant and a combat knife. The skin can be additionally created in the toolbox and immediately put on.

sheet armor

Crafting Items:

  • x10 Leaf
  • x1 cloth

Finally, on our list of all armor in Sons of the Forest, we have the Sheet Armor. It is by far the easiest to create in the game, but it provides little to no protection against enemies. You should get rid of this armor within the first few hours of the game, as it is of no value.
