iOS 16.0.3 and watchOS 9.0.2 released to fix startup bugs

Apple released minor software updates for iPhone and Apple Watch today. Dubbed iOS 16.0.3. and watchOS 9.0.2, the updates mainly focus on fixing a few bugs that users have encountered since the launch of iOS 16 and watchOS 9 last month.

iOS 16.0.3 claims to fix an issue where iPhone 14 owners could barely hear the person on the other end when making phone calls via CarPlay, as well as another issue where Mail “freezes on startup after receiving a garbled email””.

The iPhone update does not add any new features, but some of them will appear in iOS 16.1. This release is expected in the coming weeks along with a new version of iPadOS and presumably one or more new iPad models.

For its part, watchOS 9.0.3 fixes audio interruptions in Spotify, sync errors with Wallet and Fitness when setting up a new watch, a microphone bug, and an issue with repeated alarm notifications not working properly.

Both updates are available today on all supported devices.
