A few days ago, we saw Sony getting ready to launch its next flagship headphone in the audio industry, the WH-1000XM5. However, its rival Sennheiser is not silent. Today, the company introduced its new product on the market under the brand name Momentum. The new Momentum True Wireless 3 headphones are an upgrade from previous models in the lineup with features such as signature Sennheiser sound, TrueResponse technology and more. As of now, Sennheiser has yet to announce its plans to launch headphones in India. However, you can get it from the US.
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 headphones are available in three colors – black, graphite and white – for $249.95 and will be available for purchase starting May 10.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 Headphones Specifications
As the name suggests, this is the third entry in the Momentum line of headphones. Externally, the headphone case is similar to its predecessor, the Momentum True Wireless 2. However, the headphone shape is more rounded and curved at the corners. The biggest change to the case is that the USB-C charging port is now located on the front where the case opens up. A charging indicator is also visible next to the port.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 is loaded with features. These include dynamic 7mm drivers that offer “deep bass, natural mids and detailed highs,”according to the firm. It also gets adaptive ANC technology that automatically adjusts the intensity of noise cancellation based on outside noise. However, users have the option to switch to transparency mode to hear their surroundings.
In addition to this, Momentum True Wireless 3 allows you to create a custom profile for users, and the Smart Control app allows you to control the sound output by adjusting the audio presets and equalizer. Some of the codecs supported by the headphones are AAC, SBC, and aptX adaptive codecs.
In addition to having three microphones on each headphone for clear voice during calls, the Momentum True Wireless 3 has an IPX4 waterproof design. According to Sennheiser, the headphones are expected to provide up to 7 hours of continuous playback, while the wireless charging case can provide up to 21 additional hours.
Competition with Sony WF-1000XM4
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 competes directly with Sony’s recently launched WF-1000XM4 wireless headphones. Equipped with a built-in V1 processor, the 1000XM4 supports DSEE Extreme and 360 Reality audio, and has 6mm drivers. They may be a bit smaller than Sennheiser’s 7mm drivers, but the earbuds stay on top thanks to ANC performance. We have yet to see if the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 can really compete with the 1000XM4 for the money or not.
