The trailer for Sniper Elite 5 is out, coming in 2022 as the title of the first day of Xbox Game Pass

The Sniper Elite franchise from Rebellion Developments returns in its fifth installment and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. Studio and publisher Rebellion Developments is currently aiming for a 2022 release date, the game will include a branded campaign set this time in France, online co-op multiplayer, and PvP modes.

The game will also be available on PlayStation along with Xbox and PC consoles. The reveal trailer focuses on the improved visuals in the campaign, as well as the gruesome new X-Ray Kill Camera, which looks horrific and more fun than ever. Rebellion is one of the most successful indie studios to carve out a worthy niche in the Sniper Elite franchise, and the fifth installment is looking pretty good so far.

Sniper Elite 5 Coming in 2022

The Sniper Elite franchise features a heavily non-linear gameplay structure where players can approach their targets and destroy targets in any way they see fit. Several options are available to the player, but as the name suggests, the target is usually killed with a sniper rifle.

Sniper Elite 5 will apparently feature game mechanics very similar to Deathloop and Dark Souls, where players can join other players’ games and act as an opposing force, a rival sniper. This will definitely create interesting gameplay opportunities as well as pave the way for new storytelling.

As mentioned earlier, Sniper Elite 5 will be an Xbox Game Pass Day 1 release, which is a huge plus. This means that the game will be available to subscribers on the day of release. The game will be set in France and it will be interesting to see what kind of gameplay changes Rebellion is currently working on.
