WhatsApp is working on a detailed reaction view for photo albums, may soon appear for everyone

WhatsApp recently added reactions to its app, allowing users to quickly respond to any message with a set of five emojis. This feature is similar to what other apps of the Meta group already offer, such as Instagram and Facebook Messenger, and now WhatsApp is already working on expanding it. According to a report from popular feature tracker WABetaInfo, the company is currently working on adding detailed reaction views to group and private chats that will show group members how people are reacting to a photo album.

Whatsapp Reaction Viewer: How It Can Work

According to the report, people can already react to individual images posted by any user, and such reactions are already visible when each photo is selected. However, the new feature adds a new level of convenience as it will show users how the entire group reacts to images, thus mimicking similar features to any social media platform.

This feature has been seen in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and shows you a detailed overview of the reaction you get for each photo in an album – without having to select each image. The images in the album will be displayed as thumbnails on the right, along with the corresponding reactions.

This feature can be handy for quick discussions about selecting images from albums in both private and group chats. Instead of going through every image in an album and seeing the reactions you’ve received, you’ll soon be able to see all the reactions in one place, which will help you understand which of the images you’ve submitted is more favorable. Such a feature would find use in both personal and formal use cases.

WhatsApp is constantly adding to its list of features and has grown steadily from a chat app to a full suite of services. Recently, the service has expanded its business opportunities by launching its own cloud hosting. The latter will enable businesses to adopt cloud platforms faster and offers free cloud hosting for now. With more features like this, the private chat service likely hopes to attract more users and more opportunities for monetization.
