WhatsApp will add a new privacy feature. You will be able to hide your “Last seen”status.
WhatsApp needs to be updated frequently, be it new features or simple improvements and bug fixes, if the messaging service is to retain its users and attract new ones. Features relate to many aspects. The aspect of privacy is very important today. And it is on the latter that WhatsApp will soon offer an adjustment.
WhatsApp will add a new privacy feature
According to WABetaInfo, the platform is indeed currently developing a feature that will allow users to hide their online status. A screenshot has been posted on the blog of the new privacy settings that allow the user to decide who can see when using the app. This feature will come in addition to the recent additions made by WhatsApp with the “Last seen”option.
You will be able to hide your “Last seen”status
After rolling out the beta last April, the company rolled out an update that added a “My Contacts Except”setting to give you more precise control over who can know when you were last on the app. The problem with this status as it is currently implemented is that it gave contacts the ability to know if you’ve seen their message or not, even if you turned off read receipts.
According to a screenshot posted by WABetaInfo, this new status option will provide the ability to also restrict who you don’t want your Last Seen status to be known to. In any case, it’s pretty surprising that WhatsApp has been working on such a basic privacy feature for so long, but it should be coming soon. Undoubtedly, many users will appreciate it.
