The newest expansion for World of Warcraft, Dragonflight, is finally out. This expansion will take WoW players to the fantastical and mystical lands of Dragon Island. Having said that, the journey will be different for both Horde and Alliance. There are also some basic prerequisites to get to this place. Thus, you may need a little extra help with this. How to get to the Dragon Isles in WoW Dragonflight
Before you get to the Dragon Isles, you’ll need to make sure you’ve purchased the Dragonflight Expansion Pack. This includes any expansion you choose, epic or heroic. You also need to make sure you’re at least level 58 to get to the Dragon Isles. Once you have completed these prerequisites, you can begin your journey with the dragon.
As mentioned before, getting to the Dragon Isles is different for both factions in WoW. So let’s start with the Alliance.
How to get to the Dragon Islands for the Alliance
You may need to complete a few quests before embarking on your journey to the Dragon Isles. Follow these steps:
- Go to the quest menu to find the Dragonscale Expedition questline.
- You will find this campaign if you haven’t completed these quests prior to the launch of Dragonflight.
- For players who have completed the quest chain, you can directly jump to the Dragon Isles Await quest chain.
- You need to meet Rayton in Stormwind to start the quest chain.
- You will now be prompted to listen to Wraithon & Turalyon. Click “Complete Quest”to find out what happened in Shadowlands.
- Toddy Whiskers will then ask you to assemble a team for the Expeditionary Coordination quest.
- You also need to interact with Scalecommander Azurathel in order to complete the Obsidian Warders quest.
- After completing both quests, travel to Stormwind Harbor.
- When you get there, you will see Archmage Khadgar arriving at the location from his portal. Interact with him to ask and find out what happened.
- Finally, interact with Toddy Whiskers to get to the Dragon Isles.
- When you accept the quest “To the Dragon Islands”, you will see a ship moored in the harbor. When the ship docks, just step on the board to get to the Dragon Isles in Dragonflight.

How to get to the Dragon Isles as Horde in WOW
Follow these steps:
- After you complete the Dragonscale Expedition questline, you can take on the Dragonscale Isles Awaiting questline.
- For this quest, meet up with Ebyssian in Orgrimmar, which will trigger more quests.
- Interact with Scalecommander Cinderethresh to receive the Dark Talons quest. In this quest, you will have to deliver his orders to Kodety and Dark Claw.
- You will then receive the Expeditionary Coordination quest.
- Once you’ve completed both quests, you can head to the Zeppelin Tower to meet up with all of your allies.
- You will find Naleidea Rivergleam outside the Tower.
- Interact and accept “To the Dragon Islands!”quest to finally get to the location. An expeditionary airship will soon arrive and take you and your allies to the Dragon Isles.
