YouTube regularly introduces new features to its iOS and iPadOS apps as experiments, and sometimes these features are only available to a small number of users around the world while the experiment is underway. In other words, some users may see these new features while others may not.
iOS developer PoomSmart has just released a new free jailbreak tweak called YTABConfig that allows users to dive into the YouTube app’s list of experimental features they may or may not already be using. The tweak adds a dedicated panel to the YouTube app exclusively for specified features, where you can view options.
Referring to PoomSmart, there are over 1000 features on this list, many of which were already available in a previously released tweak called YTABGoodies. YTABConfig is now the official successor to YTABGoodies which is now an older setup.
PoomSmart also tells us that due to the advanced nature of these settings, users should only play with them if they know what they’re doing. With that in mind, be sure to read the descriptions carefully, otherwise you might change what you don’t like.
With over 1000 settings to tweak, it would be nice to have a list of the changes you made somewhere so you can easily refer to them and change them again in the future.
Those who want to get familiar with the new YTABConfig setup can download it for free from PoomSmart’s personal repository through their favorite package management app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS and iPadOS 14 devices, as well as the latest version of the YouTube app, which is v17.29.3 at the time of this writing.
If you’re not yet using the PoomSmart Personal Repository but would like to, you can add it to your package manager app of choice using the URL we’ve provided below:
