Forget OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 10 Ultra is now being tested with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+

After all, the OnePlus 10 Pro may not be the company’s best model this year. OnePlus is reportedly testing an Ultra phone as part of the OnePlus 10 series. Rumor has it that OnePlus’ upcoming Ultra phone will have improved hardware with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC as well as improved cameras.

The cameras on the OnePlus 10 Pro were lackluster, especially the ultra-wide-angle lens, which we felt let the phone down (OnePlus 10 Pro review). OnePlus will likely improve the photography capabilities of the already released OnePlus 10 Pro. The company is also said to be working on various products, including the regular OnePlus 10, which was never released, and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 powered smartphone.

OnePlus 10? More Nord phones? Do you understand

According to Yogesh Brar, the upcoming OnePlus 10 Ultra could see the light of day in August or September. The phone is being tested with a focus on camera improvements and performance improvements.

He also adds that OnePlus hasn’t neglected the vanilla OnePlus 10 and the phone could be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC or a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 depending on the market. This may be a difference between regions, similar to how Samsung used Exynos chips in some countries and shipped phones with Snapdragon chipset in the US.

In the future, the Nord series will also see more devices, possibly with a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 or Snapdragon 888 SoC. The brand is also reported to be working on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 powered smartphone.

A previous report revealed the specs of the upcoming OnePlus 10. The phone will likely feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The company can choose from a 50MP main camera, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, we can see a 32-megapixel selfie camera. A phone’s USP or Unique Selling Proposition may be 150W fast charging capability.
