Enchantments are a great way to add certain buffs to your armor and weapons, and breath is one of the best helmet enchantments in the game. Although you will need an enchanting table for this, there is a lot of equipment that enhances your enchanting. To Enchant Breath in Minecraft you will also need an Enchanted Book. Although some items are already enchanted and need to be looted, most of them need to be enchanted on the table.
The breath enchantment in Minecraft will give you underwater breathing for a short period of time. In particular, the breath enchantment on your helmet will allow you to breathe underwater for 15 seconds per breath level. For example, if your helmet is breath level III, you will have a 45 second safety net compared to a base time of 15 seconds.
In addition, when you use the Turtle Shell Breath Enchantment, you gain an additional 10 second safety net. The maximum level you can reach for this enchantment is level 3. So you get 60 seconds underwater with this helmet enchantment.
That’s all the breath enchantment in Minecraft does. While you’re here, be sure to check out our Minecraft guides.
